Mantle is a climbing progress tracker with a rating system. You log your sessions, your rating updates based on your performance, and your climbing partner can vouch for your sends as a layer of social accountability.
Mantle uses a climbing skill rating model. Your rating goes up when you send above your level and down when you fall on easier grades. Every logged session counts toward your rating.
After a session, you can share a vouch link with your climbing partner. They review your logged climbs and confirm what they witnessed. No account required. They just tap the link and verify. If you're climbing at a gym that's in the Mantle system, your session can also be verified automatically via a location check, no partner needed. Verification is a social trust signal and does not directly change your rating or rank.
No. You can log sessions without getting vouched. If you're at a gym in the Mantle system, your session can be location-verified automatically. Partner vouching is an additional layer of social accountability, but your rating is based on what you log regardless of verification status.
There are seven ranks: Prospect (starting), Scrambler, Sender, Crusher, Projector, Dirtbag, and Stonemasters. Each represents a range of rating points based on your logged climbing performance. Verification supports social trust, but does not directly affect rank.
Mostly. Mantle supports two rating disciplines: Bouldering and Sport. Sport logs can be tagged as Top Rope or Lead. Trad climbing is not currently supported. Your bouldering and sport ratings develop independently.
Mantle does not explicitly store your location for tracking purposes. When you log a session, your device coordinates are recorded to verify you're at a gym in our system. We don't share this data, but it could be used to infer where you climbed. You can review our Privacy Policy for full details.
No. We don't run ads, sell data, or do any unnecessary tracking. Your climbing data stays yours. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. You can delete your account from the app settings. There's a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind, after which all data is permanently removed.
